John E. McElroy, 90, formerly of Emmaus, died Aug. 8, 2022, at Phoebe, Allentown. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Edward and Pauline (Iobst) McElroy.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by children: Scott M., Jeffrey A. (Annette), Gary D., Sheree A. Berger, Darryl L. and Colleen R. Reeves; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Jacqueline Guth; longtime companion, Maryann Miller. He was predeceased by sisters, Elaine, Ernestine and Loretta.

Graveside services will be held 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at the Emmaus Moravian Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
