Marian E. Rohrbach

Marian E. (Dries) Rohrbach, 89, of Alburtis, died peacefully July 26, 2022, surrounded by her loving family in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late Donald T. Rohrbach, who died Jan. 3, 2017. Before his death, they were married for 62 years. Born in Alburtis, she was the daughter of the late Earl A. and Pearl K. (Bachman) Dries.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie.

She was a graduate and valedictorian of Emmaus High School, Class of 1951. She received an associate degree in business from Lehigh Carbon Community College, Schnecksville.

She was employed as company comptroller of Kelly Automotive Group and Affiliated Dealerships from 1967 until the present. Her career, spanning over five decades of dedicated service to the Kelly Group led to many friendships, many of whom she was happy to call ‘family.’ Her work was so important to her, she never wanted to give it up, working as recently as two weeks ago, when illness prevented her from doing so.

She was a member of New Temple Chapter #298, Order of the Eastern Star, Macungie.

She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, sharing her time and talents so graciously with each of them.

She is survived by a nephew, who she and her husband raised as their own son, William J. “Bill” Meck, companion of Louise J. (Reinert) Eppel, of Alburtis; grandchildren, Miranda M. (Meck) and her husband, Benjamin F. Swatsky, of Coopersburg, John W. and his wife Jocelyn K. (Nagle) Meck, of Easton; great-grandchildren, Cora M. and Hazel A. Swatsky; nieces; nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Helen (Dries) Litzenberger, Mildred (Dries) Brunner and Francis (Dries) Korpics.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Sept. 8 at Brookside Country Club, 901 Willow Lane, Macungie. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects 10 to 11 a.m.
