Once again, the Steelworkers’ Archives and Liberty HS football team partnered to clean up the Steelworkers’ Memorial located next to the southern end of the Fahy Bridge. On June 18 about 20 Liberty football teammates scraped, swept and blew away a year’s accumulation of dirt from the paved surface of the Memorial. “It’s important for them to understand their place in the community,” explained head coach Shawn Daignault, and “it gives you perspective about who you represent.” More similar activities are planned according to Daignault. The footballers were treated to a pizza lunch by the Steelworkers’ Archives.
