Robert Billig Jr. conducts the Pioneer Band July 14. The band was organized in 1889.

Pioneer Band Assistant Conductor Brian Smith leads the band while Robert Billig Jr., conductor, performs on accordion during the polka segment of the program. Billig retired from Northwestern Lehigh School District in 2011 where he directed the high school marching band, concert band and jazz ensemble, taught music and worked with the elementary, middle and high school choruses.

Music lovers enjoy the concert featuring the Pioneer Band July 14. The summer concert series continues July 29 with a concert by fan-favorite The Large Flowerheads 6:30 p.m.
