Need something for your kids to do now that the Salisbury park program is over?
The Allentown Public Library has lots going on. They have outdoor story time 10 a.m. Thursdays through Aug. 6. They have Tech Tuesdays 9:30-11 a.m. to teach Internet basics. Library hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Visit the library website at www.allentownpl.org for more information.
Once again, DeSales University is holding its PA Shakespeare Festival theater extravaganza. For the kiddos, they are performing “Little Red,” a modern take on Little Red Riding Hood, through Aug. 6. Get your tickets now at www.pashakespeare.org. The PSF is always a good time. Great performances, beautiful costumes and fun for all.
How about a night out without the kids? The PSF is performing “Much Ado about Nothing” until Aug. 6.
Still need more ideas? Musikfest returns to Bethlehem Aug. 5-14. I saw Carrie Underwood at Musikfest many moons ago and she kept singing even when it rained! But for me, the best part is the food. So many different smells and flavors as you walk the streets. Yum. For a complete list of concerts and vendors, visit www.musikfest.org.
Salisbury Township yard waste drop off sites are open. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Franko Farm will be open July 28, 30 and Aug. 8. The Devonshire site will be open Aug. 1, 4 and 6. For a complete listing of acceptable items, visit the township website under the heading “Refuse and Recycling.”
