Lower Milford Fall Festival Sept. 24
The Lower Milford Board of Supervisors held its monthly meeting July 21. As a reminder to residents, every meeting is on the third Thursday of each month at the township building.
The meeting began without public comment and the minutes of June, treasurer’s report and monthly bills were quickly approved.
In the reports section of the meeting, public works reported they repaired a patch on Chestnut Hill Church Road, Schoolhouse Lane and Saucon Circle. They also patched up the intersection at Glen Road and Beverly Hills Road. There were quite a bit of road repairs overall.
In the administrator’s report, the second installment of the American Rescue Plan Act funds were delayed. They were supposed to be received this month, but they got pushed to August.
Plans are in the works for the Lower Milford Fall Festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 24 at the township building. This will be the festival’s 20th year anniversary.
The library representative submitted a letter to the board outlining some issues he had with Lower Saucon Township joining the Southern Lehigh Library. Lower Saucon Township is attempting to join the library and even donated $50,000. The concern is that Southern Lehigh Library won’t have enough services for all the new people joining.
An attending Lower Milford Supervisor reported the library board was apprehensive about allowing Lower Saucon Township in because they will need to hire more employees and, possibly, construct a new building for appropriate space. The Lower Milford Board of Supervisors felt the donation made was nice but did not give much else of an opinion.
There was no old business.
In new business, the board reviewed a nearly $900 monthly quote from ET&T for network services within the township building. ET&T is based in the Lehigh Valley and provides phone systems, IT support, security cameras, plus a myriad of other services for small to mid-size businesses and municipalities.
The board decided they wanted ET&T to come back with their minimum package quote.
Following this, a purchase of new Dell computers for the township offices was discussed. This was in response to the network package. The ARPA funds were suggested for the expenditure. This item was also pushed to a later date, as supervisors want to make the decision on the network services and new computers together.
A Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust-sponsored procurement card program was discussed. This provides a wholesale method for municipalities and schools to streamline purchasing. A resolution will be presented at the next meeting.
The last item was the approval of Resolution 2022-11. This was a dedication of sanitary sewer easement or the nonpossessory right to use for a local business located on Dekrane Drive.
The next Lower Milford Board of Supervisors meeting will be held 6:30 p.m. Aug. 18. Meetings are located at 7607 Chestnut Hill Church Road, Coopersburg.
