CONTRIBUTED PHOTO Student Elena Attieh, of Egypt, has been named a winner in Scholastic Scope magazine's Finding Your Voice writing contest. For the magazine's February 2022 issue, Elena wrote a paragraph on James Earl Jones and Olivia Simmons and was one of three students recognized nationally for her writing skills. As a prize, she won a copy of the book “Planet Middle School” by Nikki Grimes. Elena was a seventh-grade student in Mrs. Hadersbeck's Academic Strategies class for the 2021-22 academic year. Her teacher says she is continuing to put forth much effort into her writing. Elena hopes to be a teacher and a writer.
