Robert A. Wessner, 83, of Emmaus, died July 21, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Audrey Y. (Welder) Wessner. The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage in March. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ruth (Folk) Wessner.
He was a graduate of Emmaus High School and received his undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College and his MBA from Lehigh University.
During his long career in finance, he worked for several institutions including Air Products, Lafayette College, Jewelcor and Hess’s. Even after he retired, he continued working with numbers by completing tax returns for H and R Block.
He was a lifelong resident of Emmaus and was deeply committed to the town. He served as a member of the Emmaus Borough Council and was actively involved at St. John’s Lutheran Church serving as an usher and part of the church council.
He happily attended the innumerous school, dance and sporting events of his children. And, he always rooted for the Eagles no matter how bad they were.
In his later years, he enjoyed weekly golf games and was lucky enough to travel the world with his wife and their good friends. Cruises and trips to Las Vegas were his favorites. By all accounts, he won the game of life.
