Catherine P. Janders, 96, of Whitehall, died July 24, 2022, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Joseph Janders for 65 years.

Born in Egypt, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Tekla (Klem) Tornitsky.

She was a sewing machine operator at the former Cross Country Clothes for many years.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall, where she volunteered with the church’s food drives for years.

She survived by a son, David and wife Trish; two daughters, Kathleen Heidel and Nanette Stanko and husband Al; four grandchildren, Brett, Burt, Brad and Josephine; three great-grandchildren, Rowen, Rowan and Willow; two sisters, Jeanette Koval and Irene Schlegel; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brooke; two brothers, Michael and Johnny; and three sisters, Ann, Stella and Mary.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. July 30 at the church, 4102 S. Church St., Whitehall, 18052.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the church.
