Andrew Sommers, 78, of Allentown, died July 19, 2022.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Jean (Mortimer) Newhart and Joseph Sommers.

He was a 1962 Coplay High School graduate.

He was a supervisor for the former Durkee Foods, Bethlehem, for 25 years until the company closed. He then worked at Niagara Bottling Company, Bethlehem, for five years until he retired.

He is survived by three sisters, Lorraine Ritter of Whitehall, Diane Loughrey of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Kimberly D. Newhart and her husband David Borrego of Peoria, Ariz.; nieces; nephews; and neighbors, Emily and John Forsyth and children and Mel and Sheila Moyer.

He was predeceased by a brother, Russell Sommers.

Services are private.
