Senior center offering dances, classes
Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown, has the following 7-10 p.m. Saturday night dances, classes planned for July.
·July 23: “Altar Ego”
·July 30: “The Chas Band”
The small cover charge at the dances includes light refreshments.
·July 21 and 28: Bring your project - knitting, crocheting or other needlework and join the “Knit and Chat Group,” 9-11:30 a.m.
Every Thursday, the group knits a little, chats a little, exchanges views on everything and learns something about each other and their talents. All levels welcome to attend. Free to members.
·July 22 and 29: Genealogy class led by Liz Padden, 10:45 a.m. to noon
Learn how to trace your family tree.
Bring a laptop if you have one or a laptop will be provided. This program is free to members.
·July 21 and 28: Photography Composition Basics led by instructor Ray Royer 12:30 p.m.
Want to improve your photography using your cellphone or any camera? Participate in this informal way to learn more about photography. This program is free to members.
·July 20, 25 and 27: Instructor Trisha Baker offers an arts and crafts class 9-11 a.m. This class is free to members.
·July 20 and 27: Instructor Sue Bauder will host an “Art For Everyone” class, noon to 3 p.m.
·July 22 and 29: “Art For Everyone” with instructor Sue Bauder, 9-11:30 a.m. Whatever medium you choose for both these classes, help is available. Both new and advanced students are welcome to attend these classes.
·July 26: Instructor Bonny Batman offers a drop-in ceramics class 9-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-3:30 p.m.
·July 22 and 29: Card making led by instructor Sue Steltz, 9:30 a.m.
Learn a multitude of techniques to make beautiful, handmade cards for any occasion.
·July 20 and 27: Learn how to use watercolor to make paintings that stand out with instructor Terri Cole, 2 p.m.
