William H. Schroeder, 66, of Kempton, died July 15, 2022, at home with his loving family by his side.

He and his wife, Linda M. (Leslie) Schroeder, celebrated 41 years of marriage in August 2021.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Paul H. and Alice L. (Bachman) Schroeder.

A carpenter for Kutztown University for many years, he retired in 2018.

An active member of New Bethel Church, Kempton, he served as a former deacon, usher and church board member.

He was also a former member of the Kempton Volunteer Fire Company truck crew, Kempton Lions Club, and Kempton Boy Scouts.

In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by sons Randy R. (Heidi) Schroeder of Lenhartsville, and Michael P. (Amy) Schroeder of Whitehall; daughter Katie M. Schroeder of Sunderland, Mass.; grandson Layne Schroeder; and sister Sarah A. (Robert) Burns of Carlisle.

His memorial service will be 11 a.m. July 23 in Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, with a calling hour at 10 a.m.

The Rev. Robert Ziehmer will officiate. Private interment in New Bethel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the church carpet fund, 135 New Bethel Church Road, Kempton, PA 19529 and/or to The ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter, sent c/o the funeral home.
