Good Will Fire Co. No. 1, Trexlertown awarded its sixth annual Fred J. Gross Community Service Award on June 14.
This year’s award went to Makayla Brunnabend, daughter of Jason and Lisa Brunnabend, of Upper Macungie Township.
A 2022 Parkland High School graduate, Brunnabend maintained a 4.0 GPA while actively involved in extracurricular activities.
Additionally, she volunteered with Lehigh County Special Olympics and the Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley.
She also created and shared holiday greetings with residents of the Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown.
The Fred J. Gross Award was created by the fire company in 2016 as a memorial to the past fire chief and his 45 years of active service to his community.
He instilled his compassion for his community in his three children, who are all active members of the Good Will Fire Co. No. 1, Trexlertown.
