Whitehall Township Public Library: Craft pick-ups, events for Shark Week start July 18 at library
Whitehall Township Public Library is celebrating Shark Week, set for the week of July 18.
Teens and adults can sign up to receive a shark origami and coloring kit, available all week. Kids can win prizes by taking part in daily shark trivia.
Also, adult patrons are invited to movie night 6 p.m. July 21 to watch “The Meg.”

The Kids and Teens Connect event is set for 11 a.m. July 23. Join us for games and activities, prepared for by the Teen Advisory Board.

Lehigh Valley Decorative Painters will guide us through a turtle painting event, scheduled for 9:15 a.m. July 26. This event is for ages 14 and older.
Space is limited, so registration is required.

A Super Science and Amazing Art event will be 6 p.m. July 27. Join Miss Cathy for educational fun with STEM!

Sights for Hope will present a storytime and vision screening 11 a.m. July 28.

There will be a Zoom presentation on Cape May’s Victorian architecture 6:30 p.m. July 28, presented by Cape May Museum, Arts and Culture.
Cape May is the oldest seaside resort in the United States, possessing one of the country’s largest collections of 19th-century seaside wood-framed buildings, with a variety of styles of Victorian architecture.

The Harry Potter birthday celebration event is set for 1 p.m. July 29. “Harry Potter” fans will unite for fun activities.
This program is for school-aged children.

Sign up now for a summer book talk, planned 6:30 p.m. Aug. 4. The featured book is “The Island of Sea Women.”
The first 10 sign-ups will receive a complimentary copy of the book.

There will be a fun reptile event 1 p.m. Aug. 6.
All ages are welcome for this hands-on educational program.

The library will be hosting a pirate-themed week Aug. 8-13.
Teens and adults can sign up to receive a captain’s log take-home craft. Register to receive supplies to make a journal with a pirate twist.
Kids are invited to a pirate scavenger hunt 1:30 p.m. Aug. 9.

The summer reading program continues until Aug. 6. Join us for programs, incentive reading challenges and prizes. The theme is Oceans of Possibilities.
Did you participate in the library’s summer reading challenge? If so, join us for the finales, scheduled for 11 a.m. Aug. 13 for kids and then 1 p.m. Aug. 18 for adults.

WTPL received a $1,000 grant from the PPL Foundation to support the summer reading program for children and teens.

The library is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
