Maribeth Sturdik, 55, of Lehighton, died June 29, 2022, at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Robin Sturdik. They would have been married for 23 years this coming August. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of Andrew Slabikosky and Bernadine (Reichl) Slabikosky.
She was always a strong-willed fighter and, with her husband at her side, she fought courageously a rare and aggressive type of breast cancer for three years.
She graduated from Salisbury High School in 1986. She always had a special interest and compassion for helping older people and caregiving work. She was recently employed by Lehigh Valley Hospital as a patient care assistant. Previously she had worked at other nursing homes and care facilities as a med tech.
She loved her family and was a strong advocate who was always ready to help and defend them. She loved her two Goldendoodles, Shadow and Teddy, who were always by her side and were a great comfort to her. She also liked fast cars – two of her most recent toys were a Dale Earnhardt Monto Carlo and Hot Wheels edition Camaro.
She is survived by her husband, a son, Trevor; a daughter, Julianne, both at home; brother, Andrew (Drew) Slabikosky and his wife, Mary, of Emmaus.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research c/o of the funeral home.
