The Northampton Area Konkrete Kids Educational Foundation Board of Directors awarded nine grants totaling $43,336 to Northampton Area School District for the 2022-23 academic year.

Three grants were awarded to the elementary schools, three to the Northampton Area Middle School program and three to Northampton Area High School.

The foundation funds grant requests submitted by NASD teachers and administrators. The grants enhance the quality of K-12 education throughout NASD by extending learning opportunities and co-curricular experiences for the benefit of the entire school community.

The foundation, established in 2009 by a group of community volunteers, is an organization whose primary goal is to support and finance innovative programs that enhance the quality of education for NASD students. Since its inception and with the addition of the recently awarded nine grants, the foundation has given more than $146,000 to NASD.

Grant funding is made possible by local businesses and individuals who generously support the foundation’s annual golf tournament, held in June; the Distinguished Alumni Award celebration, scheduled for Sept. 25; the memorial paver project; and the other fundraisers sponsored by the foundation.
