David W. Nenstiel, 69, of Macungie, died June 18, 2022, at the inpatient unit of Lehigh Valley Hospice following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Susan Kisthart Nenstiel. Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late William F. Nenstiel and Dorothy (Patterson) Nenstiel Pukas.
He was a graduate of West Hazleton High School and Pennsylvania State University.
For 25 years, he was an insurance agent and broker, first affiliated with LCN Associates, Hazleton and later as owner of Nenstiel and Nenstiel Insurance in West Hazleton.
At his passing, he was secretary-treasurer of Mountain View Cemetery of West Hazleton, with whom he had been affiliated since 1988 and secretary of Fairways at Brookside, Lower Macungie Township.
He was a member and past Master of Hazle Azalea Fellowship Lodge #327 F.&A.M. and member of Caldwell Consistory, Irem Temple Shrine, Penn State Alumni Association and Friends of Lower Macungie Library.
Before moving to the Lehigh Valley, he was a past president of the Masonic Temple Association, the United Charities and the Anthracite Association of Independent Insurance Agents. He was a past director of the Hazleton Y.M.C.A. and a former treasurer of Meals on Wheels. He was active in the Hazleton Chamber of Commerce and the United Way. He was a former member of the Hazleton Rotary Club, Greater Hazleton Shrine Club and the Lehigh Valley Club.
He is survived by his wife; a sister-in-law, Susan J.; nieces; nephews; aunts; several cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Kurt F.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:30 a.m. July 30 at the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. There will be a visitation 11 a.m. until time of service.
