Just one week remains in LV Legion regular season
The Salisbury Lehigh Valley Legion baseball team played seven games over eight days beginning last Monday, June 20. The Falcons went 2-5 in those games, dropping a few close ones to some of the leagues top teams.
Salisbury split a two games against Northern Valley Monday.
The first game, which had been suspended earlier in the season, saw the Falcons come out on top 5-3. Dominic Garcia had a pair of hits while scoring one run and driving in another for Salisbury.
Thomas Lovelidge (3 innings pitched, 2 hits, 3 earned runs, 4 strike out) and Jake Zellin (4 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 K) combined on the mound.
The Chargers won Monday’s regularly-schedule game 5-1 behind a three-hit pitching effort from Morgan LaBuda.
The Falcons dropped both sides of a doubleheader against Whitehall-Coplay Saturday.
Whitehall won the first game 8-5. Tim Schware had two hits, three RBIs and two runs scored for the Falcons.
The Zephyrs won the second game 6-0 as the Falcons managed just three hits off Dylan Carfara.
Salisbury rolled past winless Emmaus 20-2 in five innings last Wednesday, June 22. Matt Nunez went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI in the win, while Garcia was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs. Hunter Rothrock also went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs.
Andrew Grejda (2.2 IP, 5 H, 2 ER) and Zellin (2.1 IP, 0 H, 0ER) kept Emmaus batter off balance all game long.
Salisbury dropped a 5-4 decision to unbeaten South Parkland last Tuesday. The Trojans were trailing 4-0 through four innings but scored two runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth. Five different Salisbury batters had one hit each in the game.
The Falcons began their busy stretch of games with a 5-3 loss to North Parkland last Monday. Rothrock went 2-for-2 with a run scored in the loss.
Salisbury has three games remaining on the schedule with the season final slated for Friday, July 1 against Lower Macungie at Church Lane Park.
