The North Parkland Lehigh Valley Legion baseball team has been climbing up the standings over the last couple weeks.
While South Parkland holds an insurmountable first-place lead, the Buffaloes and Whitehall-Coplay are battling for second place as the regular season wraps up this week. The LVL playoff tournament is set to begin next week.
North Parkland fell to South Parkland 1-0 Tuesday. Matt Razzis went 3-for-3 for the Buffs, while Sean Rivera (5 innings pitched, 3 hits, 1 earned run, 12 strike outs) and Razzis (1 IP, 0 H, 0 R) limited the potent Trojan offense.
The Buffaloes beat Allentown 9-4 last Friday.
Joseph Algard went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored against Allentown. Logan Sicher was 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored and Rivera went 2-for-4 and scored once in the win.
Steven Sepko (4 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 7 K) and Owen Ondrejca (3 IP, 1 ER, 3 K) held Allentown to four runs.
North Parkland fell to Whitehall-Coplay 7-6 last Wednesday, June 22. Six Buffalo players had one hit each in the game.
The Buffaloes (10-5) are in third place in the LVL standings with four games left on the schedule, a game behind second-place Whitehall-Coplay (10-3).
