Schools open for summer library

We have been lucky with some beautiful weather lately. I hope everyone has had the opportunity to spend some time outside, or at least some time relaxing and spending time with friends and family.
Salisbury schools will again be open for summer library hours for students to get books to read.
The Salisbury Middle School library will be open July 7 and Salisbury High School library will be open July 6 and July 13. Hours for all dates will be 9 a.m. to noon.
Any Salisbury Township School District students currently in grades 5-11 considering playing an SMS/SHS sport, being a team manager or joining twirling/marching band, must have a physical dated on or after June 1 to participate in athletics/marching band/twirling in the 2022-2023 school year.
St. Luke’s is hosting free athlete physicals at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown on the following dates: 2-7 p.m. July 13 and 2-7 p.m. July 28. Athletes must bring their completed Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, Inc. forms. Updated PIAA forms are available now. Preregistration is required and the link can be found in the email from the athletic department or by emailing the above address.
The 2022 Salisbury Football Golf Classic will be held at Wedgewood Golf Course Aug. 13 with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Registrations are currently being accepted for singles and foursomes. With school out for summer break, if you’re looking for things to do the Movie Tavern is holding a family film series. With matinee showings Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, scheduled family friendly movies will be shown. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will be shown July 6-7 and Tom & Jerry will be shown July 10-11 and 13-14. They will also have discounted drinks and popcorn available as well. The Lehigh Valley Phantoms will host a school supplies drive to benefit kids in the community who are the most in need. Collections will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through July 22 with drop off boxes located inside near Tim Horton’s. Items needed include: #2 pencils, glue sticks, crayons, folders, highlighters, rulers, spiral notebooks, erasers, washable markers, dry erase markers, pencil cases and hand sanitizers.
The Devonshire drop-off center will be open for recycling drop off 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 7 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 9. The Franko Farm drop-off center will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 11 and 14 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 16.
