Edwin Batori Jr., 85, of Nazareth and formerly of Catasauqua, died June 26, 2022. He was the husband of Shirley P. (Kuhns) Batori for 60 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Edwin and Margaret (Roth) Batori Sr.
He worked in project management for Fuller Company/FLSmidth, Catasauqua, until he retired in 2001. He was then part of a the Lehigh University athletic events staff for 15 years.
He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nazareth.
He was both a zoning board and borough council member in Catasauqua. He was a committee person for the Republican Party at the East Catasauqua fire hall voting district for many years. He was a longtime chairman and a past grand marshal of the annual Catasauqua Halloween parade. He was a past president of and a firefighter for the East End Hose Company and a life member of Fullerton Fire Company No. 1. He was a past president and board member of Suburban North Family YMCA.
He was presented with the first brick laid in the memorial walkway of the Catasauqua band shelter in honor of his years of service to the community.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three godchildren, Marcie Mulligan, Shirley Crandall and Thomas Baatz; a brother-in-law, Stephen Kalata; nieces; nephews; and extended family.
He was predeceased by two sons, Martin and Philip; and a sister, Nancy Kalata.
There will be a calling time starting 10 a.m., followed by services 11 a.m., July 16 at the church, 200 S. Broad St., Nazareth, 18064.
Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.
