Trojans are still unbeaten

South Parkland improved to 14-0 in Lehigh Valley Legion play as the regular season heads into its final weeks.

The Trojans beat Salisbury on Tuesday, 5-4, in their closest game all season.

The Falcons led 4-0 after four innings but the Trojans scored twice in the bottom of the fifth and three times in the sixth to take the lead. Anthony Carpenter went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI against Salisbury. Andrew Klotz was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Three Parkland pitchers (Sean Superka, Evan Brandt and John Friday) pitched around three errors from the Trojan defense. They held the Falcons to five hits and two earned runs.

The Trojans beat Whitehall-Coplay on Monday, 4-1. Kurt Meehan went 2-for-2 and scored a pair of runs in the win. Klotz was 2-for-3. Carpenter pitched six innings and allowed six hits and one earned run while striking out seven and walking two batters. Luke Meehan finished of the game with a hitless seventh inning.

South Parkland beat rival North Parkland, 12-5, Saturday in the opening game of LVL Day at Limeport Stadium. Klotz went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs in the win. Four Trojan pitchers (Jaiden Wanamaker, Friday, Carpenter and Luke Meehan) combined to allow just four hits while striking out seven batters. The game, which had a 9 a.m. start, saw four errors committed by South Parkland and seven by the Buffaloes.

The Trojans beat Southern Lehigh 10-0 in five innings last Thursday, June 16. James Miskanic went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, while Kurt Meehan was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Michael Glick went 2-for-2 with two runs for South Parkland.

Superka pitched all five innings and allowed just two hits while striking out five batters and walking just one.

South Parkland rolled to a pair of wins in a doubleheader over Emmaus last Tuesday, June 14.

In a 15-1 win, Miskanic went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs. In a 12-0 victory over the Hornets, Dylan Fili led the offense, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Kurt Meehan was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI. Carpenter pitched all five innings and allowed just one hit and no walks while striking out eight Emmaus batters.

The Trojans have five games remaining, including a June 28 rematch with North Parkland at Parkland High School and the season finale against Lower Macungie on June 30, which is also at PHS.
