Girl Scout creates bluebird sanctuary
CONTRIBUTED PHOTOS A bluebird has already found a home in the bluebird box constructed by Girl Scout Ashley Eiss. She created the sanctuary to attract bluebirds to a garden she created.

Ashley Eiss, a Girl Scout with Troop 6931, creates a bluebird sanctuary in the courtyard of Lower Macungie Middle School to complete her requirements for her Girl Scout Silver Project. The Silver Project is one of the highest awards for a Girl Scout Cadette and its focus is on making a long-term impact on the community.
CONTRIBUTED PHOTO The courtyard at Lower Macungie Middle School is in full bloom thanks to the efforts of Girl Scout Ashley Eiss and master gardener Audrey Erb. As part of her Silver Project, Ashley secured donated bulbs and built bluebird boxes to attract birds to the garden. Additional photos appear on Page A5.
