Accidental discharge of a firearm
A resident of an apartment in the 4500 block of North Hedgerow Drive, Lower Macungie Township, found a bullet hole in their apartment after hearing a single gunshot. State police investigators determined a person in a neighboring apartment allegedly was attempting to clean or become familiar with a newly purchased handgun when it accidentally went off around 10 p.m. March 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. No injuries were reported.
DUI
A 45-year-old female, of Trexlertown, was found to be allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the 7100 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 12:06 a.m. April 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 56-year-old male, of Trexlertown, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the area of South Cedar Crest Boulevard and Little Lehigh Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 1:33 a.m. April 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 41-year-old male, of Brooklyn, N.Y., allegedly was driving under the influence at the intersection of Chestnut Street and North 10th Street, Emmaus borough, 2:03 a.m. March 6, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Further investigation found the motorist was wanted on an active warrant from Maryland.
A motorist was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after state troopers spotted the motorist’s vehicle traveling toward them while southbound in the northbound lanes of Hamilton Boulevard/Interstate 78 East, Lower Macungie Township, 12:59 a.m. March 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The troopers were traveling northbound on Hamilton Boulevard approaching Interstate 78 West. The motorist stopped the vehicle facing southbound in the northbound lanes.
Burglary
A dirt bike was removed from a storage unit at a location on Allen Street, Upper Milford Township, after someone broke into the unit between 8 p.m. March 9 and 1 p.m. March 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Theft
A resident of Jewel Lane, Lower Macungie Township, discovered her diamond and gold engagement ring, valued at $10,000, was missing from her residence after she had visitors at the home, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported April 22.
Two political signs and a “curb your dog” sign were removed from a location in the 5300 block of Hanover Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between 8 p.m. April 14 and 9 a.m. April 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The signs have a total value of $31.
A resident of Dartmouth Drive, Lower Macungie Township, discovered 30,000 of his airline miles were used for a flight from Sri Lanka to Doha, Qatar, March 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The miles were valued at $885.
Milwaukee brand tools including two impact drills and two ratchets, were removed from Mack Trucks – Lehigh Valley Operations, 7000 Alburtis Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The tools were reported missing Jan. 21 although when the items were removed is unknown. Items taken include an impact drill valued at $331.94, an impact drill valued at $234.12, a ratchet tool valued at $217.33 and a ratchet tool valued at $127.55.
Theft from vehicle
A 100-foot roll of copper tubing, valued at $3,200, a Master lock, valued at $20 and a Napa Battery jump starter, valued at $180, were removed from a flat bed trailer at a construction site in the 7100 block of Riverbend Road, Lower Macungie Township, sometime between March 2 and March 8, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported March 10.
The left rear window of a vehicle was broken and an Apple laptop computer and case and a pair of Utah Jazz basketball shorts were removed while the vehicle was parked at Target, 749 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 3:35 and 4 p.m. March 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Harassment
An 18-year-old female, of Allentown, allegedly struck another person in the face at The Movie Tavern, 6150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, March 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The female next damaged a vehicle in a parking lot.
An argument over a family dog escalated at a residence on Stonecroft Lane, Lower Macungie Township, March 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 34-year-old male, of Allentown, allegedly shoved another person during an argument in the 4500 block of North Hedgerow Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 4:19 p.m. March 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Simple assault
A 38-year-old male, of West Allen Street, Allentown, was taken into custody for alleged simple assault and harassment after troopers were called to a residence on Oplinger Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:55 p.m. March 14 for a disturbance, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Investigators determined four people were involved in a fight resulting in minor injuries. Allentown police assisted in the apprehension of the suspect.
Wire fraud
A resident of Rolling Meadow Drive, Lower Macungie Township, sent more than $20,000 through virtual currency in a supposed long-distance relationship, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported March 7.
Criminal mischief
Green spray paint was used to vandalize a garage at a location on Elementary Road, Lower Milford Township. March 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Surveillance video showed a vehicle near the scene at the time of the incident.
Accidents
A motorist was hurt when she got out of her vehicle to put something in the trunk, believing the vehicle was in park and was struck by the vehicle at a location on Rolling Green Place, Lower Macungie Township, 9:51 p.m. March 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle began to drift backward, striking the motorist’s left leg. The motorist was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital. Emmaus EMS also responded.
A sport utility vehicle had to be towed from a pothole after part of the front axle and the drive shaft cracked at a location on Pennsylvania Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, 12:12 p.m. March 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was northbound at the time. The right front tire shifted in the collision and bent outward, disabling the vehicle. Stew’s Towing and Lower Macungie Fire Department crews also responded.
A motorist was injured when his vehicle crashed into two fallen trees at Kings Highway South and Wasser Road, Lower Milford Township, during severe wind and rain 10:39 p.m. March 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was traveling south on Kings Highway South when it struck the first tree, which was leaning into the road. The vehicle then hit a fallen tree on the shoulder of the road. The motorist was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital. Upper Perkiomen Valley Ambulance and Detwiler’s Automotive also responded.
