Barbara A. Pengitore, 89, of Northampton, died June 7, 2022, at Heather Glen Senior Living, Allentown.
Born in Orange, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Louis and Frances (Spina) Pengitore.
She attended Paine Hall School, N.Y. She graduated from Chestnut Hill College and pursued further studies in education.
She was a laboratory medical assistant at the Schering Pharmaceutical Corporation, N.J. She was an elementary school teacher, piano teacher and parish director of religious education for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. She was a director of religious education for the Diocese of Allentown office of education for 22 years until she retired in 1992.
She was a nun with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chestnut Hill.
She was a member and former organist of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.
She was for many years a member of the National Conference of Catechetical Leaders and the Diocese of Allentown Advisory Board of Social Action.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Rosemarie Pengitore; and several cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Louis.
