Recycling reminder: The Bethlehem Township contract with Republic Services allows collections as follows:
Collection of residential solid waste and recyclables shall not start before 6 a.m. or continue after 7 p.m. on the same day, Monday through Saturday. Exceptions to this are only by mutual agreement between the township and the contractor, or when the contractor reasonably determines that an exception is necessary in order to complete collection on an existing collection route due to unusual circumstances.
With the current employment and staffing situation, Republic does not have a stable work force. As a result, routes are being changed by the driver(s) almost weekly.
The township recommends that trash and recycling containers be placed at the curb the night before a scheduled collection.
