The Moravian Historical Society, Nazareth, will develop a new digital resource making its resources accessible and sparking new opportunities for research.
The archival documents, important to early American history, will be available through online exhibitions and a searchable catalog enabling audiences to engage with the collections in new ways.
The project is the result of a grant from the American Historical Association (AHA) from a $2.5 million grants program to deliver relief to institutions adversely affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Fifty organizations are receiving grants from $12,000 to $75,000 each through AHA Grants to Sustain and Advance the Work of Historical Organizations Program, made possible with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) through the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021.
The grant recipients will implement short-term projects that explore new ideas or build on experiments initiated during the pandemic, from online programming or publications to using new technologies or expanding audiences and accessibility.
