Gallery View: Parkland Art League exhibit at Penn State Lehigh Valley
“We are a community of artists and there are over 80 artists in our club right now,” says Parkland Art League President Deborah Haaf.
The nonprofit, founded in 1963, helps schedule venues to display members’ works and holds workshops to teach and encourage Lehigh Valley artists.
The “Parkland Art League: 2022 Spring Exhibition” features 36 works by 21 members of the arts organization, through July 8, Ronald K. De Long Gallery, Penn State Lehigh Valley, Center Valley.
The closing reception, 1 - 3 p.m. with an awards ceremony at 2 p.m., is July 8.
“I always love to have these member exhibits in our gallery,” says Ronald K. De Long Gallery director, curator and exhibit juror Ann Lalik. “Everyone who entered was accepted,” she adds.
“There’s a lot of variety in types of styles and types of work and mediums,” Lalik says of the oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels and mixed media pieces she judged and installed for the Parkland Art League exhibition.
Parkland Art League member Glenn Steiner approached Lalik about an exhibit in 2019, but the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic shutdown delayed it.
