Two promotions have been approved for the appointment of two new sergeants in the Salisbury Township Police Department.

Salisbury Township Police Department Detective Christopher Casey and Detective Charles Whitehead will become township police sergeants.

The Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners voted 4-0, with one commissioner absent, to approve the appointments. Heather Lipkin made the motion, seconded by Commissioner Alok Patnaik, at the May 26 commissioners’ meeting, to approve the motion for the appointments.

The sergeants were chosen from the department promotional eligibility list.

In other business at the May 26 township meeting, commissioners voted 4-0 to approve:

- A motion by Lipkin, seconded by Karol, to authorize renewal of the Franko Farm Park house lease agreement, with no changes.

During the workshop following the meeting, commissioners discussed a draft sewer agreement between Salisbury Township and Fountain Hill Borough. The new agreement, with a new fee structure, would replace a 1985 agreement.

At the May 12 meeting, commissioners voted 5-0 to approve:

• The retirement after 22 years of Gary L. Kubat from the public works department, effective June 6. Lipkin made the motion, seconded by Patnaik.

• Motion by Conn, seconded by Patnaik, to award the bid for bituminous paving to Asphalt Maintenance Solutions, LLC for:

• 2022 Bituminous Seal Coat-Type 2 Slurry Project in the amount of $263,228

• 2022 Double Bituminous Seal Coat Project in the amount of $88,302

• Motion by Patnaik, seconded by Lipkin, to approve change order No. 1 for Laubach Park Stormwater Improvements Project for a $17,610 decrease

• Motion by Conn, seconded by Patnaik, to approve payment No. 1 to CMR Construction for Laubach Park Stormwater Improvements Project in the amount of $108,682.20

• Motion by Lipkin, seconded by Karol, to authorize execution of the Stormwater BMP Agreement for Southbury Park Lot 16, 2218 N. Melrose Lane

• Motion by Lipkin, seconded by Karol, to authorize execution of the Stormwater BMP Agreement for 2261 Lehigh Parkway North
