George W. Beitler Jr., 81, of Macungie, died May 31, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Louise I. (Greenawald) Beitler for 60 years. Born in Schnecksville, he was the son of the late George W. Beitler Sr. and Eva J. (Hawk) Beitler.

He was a life member of the United Steel Workers of America and the Teamsters Local #773. He was employed as a mechanic for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1996.

From 1996 to 2006, he worked with the road crew for Lower Macungie Township.

He was a life member of both the Macungie Fire Company and the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club, New Tripoli.

Active in the life of his church, he was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Trexlertown, serving as a past council president, elder, elder emeritus and deacon and served on various church committees.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Gary G. and his wife, Debbie, of Pottstown, David G. and his wife, Lisa, of Fogelsville; grandchildren, Nathan and Brianna. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert W.
