Community blood drive June 14

There will be a community blood drive 3-7 p.m. June 14 at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury, 1707 Church Road, Allentown. The drive is in memory of Wayne Leibensperger Jr. For appointments, call Deana at 610-217-3155.
The Salisbury Township School District continues to hold kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year. Students must be 5 years old by Aug. 30. Call 610-791-2800 to schedule an appointment.
Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is holding an online Summer Falconwear Sale. All orders must be placed by 11:59 p.m. June 13 with deliveries the week of July 11. Order online at https://kampusklothes.chipply.com/falconsummer22.
The school district is excited to offer STEAM Camp again this year. The camp is free and open to all Salisbury students in grades three to six. Camp will run June 20-24. Register at the link sent via email ASAP as spots are limited.
Any district students currently in grades 5-11 considering playing a Salisbury Middle School/Salisbury High School sport, being a team manager or joining twirling/marching band, must have a physical dated on or after June 1 to participate in athletics/marching band/twirling in the 2022-2023 school year. St. Luke’s is hosting free athlete physicals at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown on the following dates: 2-7 p.m. June 9, 2-7 p.m. July 13 and 2-7 p.m. July 28. Athletes must bring their completed Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association forms. Updated PIAA forms will be available beginning in June. Preregistration is required and the link can be found in the email from the athletic department or by emailing the above address.
Salisbury Township’s 2022 Summer Playground Program will be held June 13 through July 22 at Laubach Park and Lindberg Park only. The program will not be held at Devonshire Park or Green Acres Park. Flyers and registration forms are being distributed through the school and are available at the township’s municipal building. Township children who are entering first grade through age 12 are eligible to participate. Program hours are 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evenings. Arts and crafts events will be held 10 a.m. Tuesdays at Lindberg Park and 10 a.m. Wednesdays at Laubach Park.
Movie nights are back with “Encanto” shown 7:30 p.m. June 19 at Laubach Park and 7:30 p.m. June 26 at Lindberg Park.
Salisbury’s annual Playground Day will be held July 13 with a rain date of July 14 at Lindberg Park. There will be games, prizes and more. Transportation will be provided from Laubach Park. More information will be available later at all playground locations.
On days with heavy rain there will be no program. Also, should thunderstorms develop during the program hours all activities will stop and the program will close. Please make arrangements to have your children picked up immediately should this situation occur.
Children participating in the program are expected to behave in a respectful manner and to abide by the program and park’s rules. Any child who disrupts the program in any way will be dismissed from the program.
A calendar of weekly events will be distributed at each park. Come out and join in the fun. Please return a completed registration form to the park location your child will be attending beginning June 13. For other things to do this summer, the Movie Tavern is holding a family film series. With matinee showings Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, scheduled family friendly movies will be shown. First up June 5-6 and 8-9 will be Minions followed by Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway June 12-13 and 15-16. They will also have discounted drinks and popcorn available. Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury, 1707 Church Road, Allentown, will host its next bingo event 2 p.m. June 12. Doors open 1:30 p.m. All are welcome.
The Franko Farm Drop-off Center will be open for recycling drop off 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 13 and 16 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 18. The Devonshire location will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 20 and 23 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 25.
