A retirement living community in Hanover Township is always looking out for ways to help their neighbors – both big and small.
Residents from Traditions of Hanover worked together, collecting items for New Bethany Ministries, an interfaith nonprofit organization. Its main location is in Southside Bethlehem.
“There are plenty of ways to get involved and there are many wonderful outreach programs like New Bethany Ministries creating a positive impact on others’ lives,” Cathy Heimsoth, executive director at Traditions of Hanover, said.
New Bethany Ministries provides food support, hygiene support, wellness programming, transitional housing, and more to help individuals and families working toward self-sufficiency.
Claire Larkin, a resident at Traditions of Hanover, has known about the organization since its inception in the early 1980s.
“New Bethany Ministries has done a lot of good for the people of this community. I’ve personally known people who they have helped, so it was important for me to get involved and support the cause,” Larkin said.
Traditions of Hanover residents donated nonperishable food and toiletry items.
