D.E. Cressman Insurance donates $5,000 to purchase speed boards for S. Whitehall

By LOU WHEELAND

Special to The Press

South Whitehall Police Chief Glen Dorney was joined by members of the police department, as well as South Whitehall officials in thanking the D.E. Cressman Insurance Agency, 2310 Walbert Ave., for its contribution of a speed board on Walbert Avenue, just east of Cedar Crest Boulevard.

The board faces westbound traffic.

Dan Cressman paid for two of the boards, with the second board to be placed at Lincoln and Catherine avenues.

A speed board is a device that displays the speed of passing motor vehicles.

By displaying a vehicle’s speed, drivers, many times, will slow down when they see they have exceeded the speed limit in that portion of a road.
