Whitehall Township Public Library: Genealogy program is June 4

Who do you think you are?

Come to a Genealogy 101 presentation 11 a.m. June 4 for an introduction to family history research, including strategies, resources and tips to begin your family research.

Mary Ellen Heckman, dean of library services at Reading Area Community College and founding member of the Berks County Genealogical Society, will be the presenter.

The library’s summer reading program runs June 13-Aug. 16.

The theme is Oceans of Possibilities.

There will be a kickoff 6 p.m. June 15. Join Miss Cathy for the Super Science and Amazing Art program.

There will be two craft programs at the library.

The Flag Day craft is June 14, and the Father’s Day craft is June 16.

Both events will start 1:30 p.m.

The next library book sale is scheduled for June 17 and 18.

All are invited to join us 6:30 p.m. June 23 for the Fierce and Feminine: Female Pirates that Roamed the Seven Seas program, presented by the Mariners’ Museum and Park.

Uncover the stories behind some of history’s most famous and lesser-known pirate queens who ruled the seas. Some joined due to necessity; others came seeking revenge, treasure and fame.

This is an online program held over Zoom.

All ages are welcome to a hands-on educational reptile program, set for 1 p.m. June 25.

The library is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
