Thomas S. Ritter, 81, of Whitehall, died May 23, 2022, at his residence. He was the husband of Lorraine (Sommers) Ritter for 62 years.

Born in Nazareth, he was the son of the late Alfred and Irene (Biechey) Ritter.

He was a graduate of Coplay High School.

He worked as a self-employed plumber for 43 years, retiring in 2005.

He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where he served on the church council along with many other duties at the church. He was a former member of St. Paul’s Union Church, Cementon, where he was a consistory member along with many other duties until its closing.

He was a 32nd degree Mason with the F&AM Chapman Lodge 637, Northampton. He was a member of the Laurel Fire Company, Cementon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas A. and wife Denise; a daughter, Alison F. and husband Tony Loyko of Whitehall; a sister, Judith and husband Walt Humphreys of Dacula, Ga.; six grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Thomas J., Adam, Timothy and Jennifer; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Kendall and Rowan.

He was predeceased by a sister, Janice; and a grandson, Christopher.
