Tigers win first summer league game of 2022 season
The Lehigh Valley Boys Summer Basketball League got underway last week with games on Tuesday and Thursday.
The league has 31 teams this season with 22 in the Big School Division and nine in the Small School Division.
One big change for the summer of 2022 is that the league will move to indoor gyms after playing most of its games on the courts at Cedar Beach Park since it’s inception.
This season the league will play all its games on the Whitehall School District campus. Two courts will be used at the high school, the main gym and the auxiliary gym. Teams will also play at one court in the middle school gym and another in the elementary school, which has a full-size court.
This year a few new teams were added or returned as Northwestern Lehigh and Bethlehem Christian will be in the Small School Division, while Muhlenberg and Executive Education Charter will play in the Big School Division.
Games are played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.
