Contributed Photos Shoemaker Elementary School's fifth grade art club recently returned to the AMC Center Valley 16 to decorate the glass lobby panels with original artwork for “Sonic the Hedgehog 2.” According to club adviser/mentor and Shoemaker Elementary School art teacher Jeff Shreck the mural is the 38th done by the club. The first was in 2008 for the Disney's “The Princess and the Frog.” ABOVE: Ahmed Asghar works on the outline of the movie title.
Drew Mohr works on the art club's chosen design of Doctor Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik, described as the antagonist of the Sonic series. Art club members submitted their sketches for elements of the film to art teacher Jeff Shreck and the managers of the multiplex.

Rashad Tuck is among the artists working on the mural. Twenty-two students, including several art club alumni, painted the mural over four hours, according to Shreck.
From top to bottom: Ryan Knight, Brendan Fand, Nico Titone and Max Weber join Sonic the hedgehog for a photo. The mural caught the notice of the film's makers, including actors and the director. “The official ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2' page even shared their work saying, ‘We love this! Sonic has the Best. Fans. Ever.',” Shreck wrote in an email to The Press.
