Hanover to rename entrance in honor of councilman

Hanover Township, Lehigh County, Council gathered for a short meeting May 18, as only two resolution items were on the agenda.

Resolution No. 2022-34 revisited the proposed motion from Vice Chairman Michael Woolley, who requested the renaming of the township building entrance to Paulus Way. The unique proposal aims to honor Bruce Paulus and his late wife, Pat, for their commitment and dedication to serving the township.

Bruce Paulus currently serves as council chairman and has had a long-standing history with Hanover Township on the zoning hearing board, as well as a council member.

Pat Paulus served on the planning commission for more than 25 years and was described by the township clerk as personable and welcoming to everyone.

The resolution passed with four votes and one abstention from Paulus, who was quiet and humble during the discussion.

More information on signage is to come.

In other news, council voted to appoint Ricci Bonn to the Hanover Township Personnel Board, which filled the vacancy created by the resignation of Anthony Rossi, due to his new position with council. The resolution passed, and Bonn will serve on the board for three years.

Hanover council will next meet 7:30 p.m. June 1 at the municipal building, 2202 Grove Road. To view the agenda ahead of time, visit hanleco.org.
