U. S. Navy representatives visited Liberty HS May 3 seeking recruits in the high demand STEM areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Lieutenant Anthony Jarvis, a nearly 9-year Navy veteran, explained that the Navy gets “more bang for the buck on high school visits in recruitment.” Interested students received information on career opportunities available, ROTC scholarships and were able to participate in the mobile Nimitz experience, in which high tech cutting edge virtual reality presented an opportunity to rescue U. S. Navy SEALS under enemy fire. This was followed by a debriefing session in which they received feedback and were graded.
