The District 11 3A volleyball tournament gets underway this week and Freedom will be participating in Thursday’s opening round of action.
The fourth-seeded Patriots will hit the road to Emmaus for a 6 p.m. encounter with the fifth-seeded Green Hornets in a quarterfinal matchup. The winner gets top-seeded Parkland in next week’s semifinals. Freedom lost to Emmaus in four games earlier this season and were swept by Parkland in the EPC tournament.
The bottom of the bracket should provide plenty of action as well, as third-seeded Whitehall hosts sixth-seeded Easton on Thursday (6 p.m.) in one of the quarters, while second-seeded Northampton welcomes seventh-seeded Nazareth at 5:30 p.m.
Semifinals will take place on May 24 at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and finals are slated for May 26. Sites for both dates are not finalized at the moment.
