Walter F. Wexler

Walter F. Wexler, 90, of Bethlehem, died peacefully May 3, 2022, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

The devoted husband of the late Lorraine M. (Laudenslager) Wexler, the couple celebrated 50 years for marriage.

Born Feb. 25, 1932, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frank and Bertha (Arthoffer) Wexler.

He faithfully and honorably served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army 4th Division during the Korean War Era.

He was a proud and dexterous meat cutter and butcher at K Heeps Inc. and the former Food Fair/Pantry Pride, all in Allentown.

Active as a baseball coach at East Side Memorial, he was an avid bowler, golfer, Boy Scout, Sea Scout, Merit Badge Mentor, Scout Troop Leader, and an exceedingly generous addition to each and every community in which he took part.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.

A proud product of Allentown’s 6th Ward, he fondly and frequently recounted the friends, adventures and antics of his childhood there.

He and his wife loved to travel. They enjoyed many trips across the U.S. together, most notably with their children and grandchildren to Walt Disney World.

He was a dedicated family man, beloved father and Pop Pop, and his family will deeply miss him and his stories.

His survivors include sons Keith B. Wexler and his wife, Stephanie, of Bethlehem; brothers, John H. Wexler of Allentown, and William F. Wexler and his wife, Joyce, of Allentown; and grandchildren Katie and her husband, Sean, Madison, Quinn and Christopher.
