A Lower Macungie Township man is charged with alleged criminal attempt - criminal homicide and related charges after a woman called for help.
Steven Lee Malarchik, 53, was arraigned and jailed in Lehigh County Prison on $1 million bail, according to authorities.
State police detailed the incident in a news release as follows:
On April 28 troopers from Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville barracks responded to a residence in the 1500 block of South Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, for a female who called 911.
Troopers saw Malarchik allegedly attempting to leave the residence and a female stumbling out of the front door with numerous severe injuries.
Malarchik was arrested.
The woman was taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition, according to state police.
Charges against Malarchik include one count each of criminal attempt – criminal homicide, a felony; aggravated assault, a felony; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, a felony; simple assault, a misdemeanor 2 charge and terroristic threats, a misdemeanor 1 charge.
Malarchik was arraigned April 29.
His next court appearance was scheduled May 9, according to court records.
