David G. Schneck, 91, formerly of Slatington, died May 5, 2022, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of the late Ruth E. (Bleiler) Schneck.
Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Willie D. and Miriam A. (Guldner) Schneck.
He was co-owner of Stor-Mor Self Storage near Slatington for 30 years before retiring in 2011. He drove trucks for the Shell Oil Company, Macungie, and Matlack Trucking, Northampton, for 20 years. He also owned and operated Hilltop Poultry Farm, Washington Township.
He co-developed Northridge Terrace, a 13-home residential development on the family farm. He owned a private airstrip on a portion of the farm.
He was proud to be the eighth generation descendant of Adam Schneck for whom Schnecksville was named.
He was a member of the Grundsau Lodge.
He was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, where he formerly served on the property committee. He also served on the Washington Township Planning Commission.
He is survived by four children, Anne L. Zagarella of Slatington, Cindy S. Paules and her husband John of Cranberry Township, Dennis D. Schneck and his wife Maureen of Cedar Key, Fla., and Susan D. Schneck of Carlisle; five grandchildren, Salvatore D. Zagarella, Stephanie Z. Delich, Nicholas M. Schleinkofer, Deborah Pirollo and Pamela Kressley; four great-grandchildren, Santo, Evelyn, Idania and Ilaria; and a loving companion, Marjorie Geissinger of Zionsville.
He was predeceased by a brother, Harold F. Schneck.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. May 12 at the church, 5500 Route 873, Schnecksville.
