Coplay: Borough plans May 25 community clock dedication

There will be a community clock dedication 6 p.m. May 25 at Second and Chestnut streets. The Castaways will provide music 6-9 p.m.

Reminder: St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., is holding its two final Kerygma examinations of the Ten Commandments. The meetings are 6:30 p.m. May 15 and 29, with a small meal followed by the discussion.

Street sweeping in the borough is scheduled for May 19 and 20.

All vehicles must be removed from the streets on sweeping days. Watch for the no-parking signs on your street.

St. John’s Lutheran Church is holding a barbecue chicken dinner for pickup 4-5:30 p.m. May 21.

Coplay American Legion Post 426, 134 S. Second St., is planning its annual Memorial Day services. The tentative date is May 29.

American Club of Coplay has restarted its monthly hoagie sales. Options include regular or tuna hoagies or ham and cheese or tuna sandwiches.

Coplay’s Parkway Pool opens June 18.

The June hours are noon-7 p.m., the July hours are noon-8 p.m., and the August hours are noon-7 p.m.

The popular Aqua Zumba classes will return 6-7 p.m. June 20. Classes are every Monday and Wednesday.

Mayor Stephen Burker is considering restarting the National Night Out Against Crime celebration Aug. 2. NNO is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch.

Grass will no longer be picked up. There is a drop-off location at 1 Bridge St.

Drop-off hours will be 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Coplay Food Bank is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. The food bank is located in the lower level of the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St.
