CMS News: Students of the Month named

Congratulations to the Catasauqua Middle School April Star Students of the Month. The honored students are Natalie Cooper, fifth grade; Haley Cedeno, sixth grade; Ava Akus, seventh grade; and Mya Aviles, eighth grade.

There is a CMS parent/teacher forum meeting 7 p.m. May 17 in the school’s library.

CMS will be hosting Weller Center presentations for seventh grade May 18, eighth grade May 23 and sixth grade May 31.

The PTF spring dance is set for 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 20.

***

The CMS counselors will give a presentation to fourth-grade students May 24.

The fourth-grade students will tour the middle school May 25.

Mark your calendar for field days, set for May 26, sixth grade; May 27, eighth grade; May 31, seventh grade; and June 1, fifth grade.

Catasauqua Area School District will be closed May 30 for the Memorial Day holiday.

***

Leading up to the last day of school, there will be an 11 a.m. early dismissal June 3-8.

The eighth-grade promotion will be 8:30 a.m. June 7 in the school auditorium.

The last day of school for the rest of the students is June 8.

Catasauqua Community Cares Program is holding sign-ups for food distribution for the summer months.

Distributions will be 6-6:30 p.m. every Wednesday starting June 8 at CMS, 850 Pine St. Each week, families will receive items for breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Since no lunches are provided during the summer months, this will provide additional resources for CASD families.

Don’t forget to register for Camp LCTI 2022. Lehigh Career and Technical Institute hosts Camp LCTI each summer to provide a fun, educational opportunity for kids and to spread the word about career and technical education in the Lehigh Valley. Campers will have tons of fun with science, technology, engineering, arts and math, as well as career exploration.

Camp LCTI will take place 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. June 14-17 for students in grades 5-8.

Catasauqua Area School District students will receive a 50-percent discount on camp registration. CASD students will pay a camp registration fee of $125. CASD students who also sign up by May 15 get a free camp T-shirt.

Transportation will be provided to and from camp. Pickup and drop off will be at CMS.
