Emmaus to celebrate Junior Prom and Senior Ball in May

New and current members are welcome to learn about Mexican traditions, food, culture and more.

The Senior Ball will be held 5-10 p.m. May 6 from at The Palace Center of Allentown. This event is for seniors only (excluding preapproved guests) who have already purchased tickets.

Now through May 6, the Interact Club is holding a district-wide T-shirt drive to benefit

ZipWithUs, which modifies garments for cancer patients with vascular access devices. Donation boxes are available at Room 524, Room 575, the main office, and all other East Penn School District buildings, including the district’s administrative offices. Donations must include new T-shirts from sizes 2T-Adult XL. At each donation box, index cards are also available to create notes or drawings for pediatric cancer patients. The Emmaus Rotary Club is offering its annual service scholarship to current seniors involved with the Interact Club. Further requirements include a GPA of at least 3.0, two reference letters and a passion for community service.

Eligible students may find application forms in the Interact Club Schoology page – all forms are due May 6. Direct questions to anmoyer@eastpennsd.org (Rotary Club contact) or akaunitz@eastpennsd.org (Interact Club contact).

The Emmaus High School Art Show is accepting orders for its annual T-shirt sale. This year’s design features a “retro bus” graphic. Speak to a teacher from the art department for an order form, or print it out using the link in the EHS announcements.

For students interested in coloring their shirts, three tie-dye sessions will be offered 2:35-3:30 p.m. May 17, 19 and 24 in Room 527. Use the URL in the order form to sign up for tie-dye sessions. All payments are due May 6.

The EHS Spring Choral Concert will be held 7-10:30 p.m. May 12 in the auditorium. This is the choral department’s last performance of the school year and will feature an annual senior slideshow. Admission is free.

Junior Prom will be held May 14 at DeSales University. This event is for juniors only (excluding preapproved guests) who have already purchased tickets.

The next two consecutive Habitat for Humanity meetings will be held 2:30 p.m. May 17 and 24 in Room 513. New members are always welcome to attend.
