Christ’s Church at Lowhill selling hoagies

Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, is accepting orders until May 8 for their R&K hoagies and pretzel sandwich sale.

Hoagies include Italian, ham, turkey, roast beef, and American, 12- inch whole grain roll with turkey and onion or whole-grain all cheese and onion.

Pretzel sandwiches available in Italian, ham and cheese, ham and Swiss, turkey and cheese, roast beef and cheese, sweet Lebanon bologna and cheese, all cheese, chicken, egg and tuna salad.

Pickup will be 3-5 p.m. May 18 at the church.

Morgenland Union Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will host Vince’s Cheesesteak Food Truck 2-7 p.m. in the church parking lot.

They are also having a jewelry fundraiser 9 a.m. May 8 to 10 a.m. May 15.

Take your new, old, estate or costume unwanted and unused jewelry, watches, cuff links, single earrings and even broken items, place in a bag and take to the church.

Include your name and address if you would like a tax receipt.

One hundred percent of the donation value will go to Morgenland Union Church.

Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, will celebrate that special mother figure in your life May 8.

Mothers will receive a free flower from Rich Mar Florist upon entry while supplies last.

The zoo will feature a variety of crafts for kids to make to show their appreciation for mom.

Enjoy live music by acclaimed artist Kristen Morgenstern noon to 2 p.m. on the Dining Deck.

Join the Zoo 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 14 to celebrate the reopening of Preston’s Pad on World Migratory Bird Day.

Sample eco-conscious bird friendly coffee while learning about native habitats and the conservation of songbirds and pollinators.

Participants can even learn how to create their own native habitat in their backyard.

PPL Electric Utilities will be on-site for a native plants giveaway while supplies last.

Edge of the Woods Native Plants will be on-site with messaging about the importance of native plants and habitats.
