Stephen Chromiak, 101, of North Catasauqua, died April 25, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Sally Chromiak for 67 years.
He was the youngest son of George and Yustina Chromiak.
He graduated from Catasauqua High School in 1938.
He worked as a mechanic at the Bethlehem Steel for 24 years.
He started playing golf at the Old Lehigh Country Club in 1936, where he caddied. He acquired his Professional Golfers Association card in 1965. In 1969, he became pro-manager of Willow Brook Golf Course. He had four holes-in-one during his career. He retired in 1995.
He bowled in the Thursday night Coplay Saengerbund bowling league for 40-plus years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Gail Carpency, Lynn and her husband Mark Burkit and Janice and her husband Michael Frantz, all of Danielsville, and Karen Hendricks of Northampton; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
