It’s high tea at Holy Trinity
Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua, held its Victorian high tea April 30.
The event had been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but everyone was happy to celebrate with their friends again.
Liz Burda has been the event coordinator since the start. She is assisted by Liz Ondosh, Dominque Luz, Kirsten Kinch and Hanna Black.
But how can there be a high tea without butlers and footmen to serve? No worries - the Holy Trinity men’s group was happy to deliver.
Chocolate chip and cranberry-orange scones, lemon-blueberry bread, roast beef on rye finger sandwiches, ham and potato salad, peach preserves and lemon curd on English muffins were on the menu. The dessert tray had almond tea cakes, chocolate-coated macaroons and more.
There were prizes and gifts for attendees.
The Holy Trinity women help sponsor funding for campers at Easterseals Camp, an overnight adventure for those with special disabilities. The campers fill their days with environmental programs, crafts, campfires and more. Some of the campers have never been away from their families but learn new experiences as they get older.
Easterseals Camp, coordinated by Lauren Faust, is at the Pocono Environmental Education Center in the heart of the Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area.
The Lutheran group provides the funding for campers at the rate of $1,400 a week.
