Catharine Duchodni, 99, of Quakertown, died April 8, 2022, at Independence Court of Quakertown. She was the wife of the late William Duchodni who died October 2002. Previously, she was married to John Terfinko. Born in Macungie, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Licholat) Bandura.
She was a seamstress and a member of the I.L.G.W.U. at a sewing factory in Allentown for over 20 years. Her job was to make tops and sleeves.
For several years she had her own luncheonette in Macungie called Cathy’s. They first opened with a limited menu of lunch basics like hot dogs and sides. Over time they expanded into fancier meals of lobster and steak.
She believed in giving back. She volunteered at the fire company as a waitress, was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Macungie V.F.W. and with AARP.
Recently she attended Grace Bible Fellowship in Quakertown with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Terfinko Engelman (Kenneth), of Quakertown; a son, Jerry J. Terfinko (Martha), of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Gary Engelman (Kara), Tricia Mellinger (David), Tara Risser (Anthony), Peter Engelman (Rachel), Emma Binkley (Nathan), Lilli Tinch (Mikey); 10 great-grandchildren.
